Unleashing Avalanche Awareness at the North Idaho Boat Show with Friends of the Idaho Panhandle Avalanche Center

As we count down to the much-anticipated North Idaho Boat Show (NIBS), we're thrilled to unveil the inclusion of a highly informative session by our local partner, Friends of the Idaho Panhandle Avalanche Center (FIPAC). A dedicated group of backcountry enthusiasts, FIPAC is committed to promoting avalanche awareness and safety.

FIPAC supports and contributes to the educational and public advisory activities provided by the Idaho Panhandle Avalanche Center (IPAC). Their work includes public avalanche education, operation of weather stations, and organizing a team of snow observers to supplement observations made by IPAC forecasters. They rely on donations to operate and assist the avalanche center in funding personnel and purchasing equipment.

On February 1 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, FIPAC will be offering an invaluable IPAC Avalanche Awareness Class at NIBS. This FREE hour-long session is open to everyone, from seasoned pros to beginners. The class will help you understand the dangers of avalanches and introduce simple actions that can keep you safe in the backcountry.
