A full day of learning, family fun, and giving back
Some days are about boats.
Some days are about community.
BBQ & Bravery Day at Tobler Marina is about both.
Taking place during the North Idaho Boat Show, BBQ & Bravery Day is a family-friendly, community-focused event designed to bring people together around education, appreciation, and good food, all in support of our local first responders.
Start the day with Boater Education
From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a Boater Education & Safety Course right at Tobler Marina.
This class covers:
Essential boating laws
On-water safety practices
Real-world tips to help you feel confident and prepared on the water
It’s a great fit for new boaters, families, or anyone wanting a refresher before the season kicks off.
Family fun throughout the afternoon
Starting at 1:00 PM, the marina comes alive with activities for all ages:
Kids can sit in a patrol vehicle, honk the horn, and turn on the sirens
Meet and talk with local first responders
A Build Your Own Boat kids activity running all day
Boat tours and show browsing while things stay relaxed and uncrowded
Finish strong with BBQ for a good cause
From 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, we’ll gather for great eats and an even better cause, supporting the Red & Blue Foundation.
Expect:
Smoked chicken and beef
Comfort-style sides and sweets
A laid-back, community atmosphere
First responders eat free, and all other meal purchases support the Red & Blue Foundation.
Come for the class. Stay for the food. Leave knowing you spent the day learning, connecting, and giving back.
